New me?

Today I've done well. I weighed in at 16 stone 3 lbs, so I do still have 5lbs to go. Although this is annoying, it just spurs me on to keep going.

So today I had a banana and a green tea for breakfast, a yoghurt for lunch and a fruit snack bar at around 3pm. Then for dinner I had a chicken Kiev with salad. I was starving by 9pm but I've had a green tea and a boiled sweet.

Just realised I haven't done my 7 minute workout but I'm in bed now so it's just not happening!!

Tomorrow I aim for a very similar day of eating, plus workout!!

I'm going to weigh in every day this week. I know you shouldn't, but I want to monitor this and keep me going.

Time to shape up!

Yesterday at the Ploughmans supper, I didn't do too badly. I steered clear of all bread, and ate all the celery and grapes (with a little pate). However, I did also snack on some crisps and cheese, and it was pretty late. Despite this, I stuck to water all night. So there were ups and downs. However, I snuck onto the scales today to see if this affected me at all, and I seem to have put on 2lbs! I'm really disappointed in myself. I really wanted to lose that second stone before I left for Italy (6 days away), but it seems an impossible task now.

I really have to sort myself out. I started this diet really well, and I'm not even three months in, and I've already been struggling. So from tomorrow, I'm going to do the 7 minute workout every day, and for the next 5 days, I'm steering clear of all bread. I'll have a yoghurt for breakfast, banana for a snack in the day, and a lettuce, cucumber and tomato salad. Then for dinner I'm going to have a couple of pieces of chicken (chicken dippers would be easy), perhaps a bit of bacon, with salad. No potatoes, no pasta, no bread. No dressing. Unfortunately, I can't do this today. I've started with a banana and green tea, but I'm cooking Sunday lunch for 6 people. I'm bulking it out with leeks, carrots, runner beans, broccoli and cauliflower.

I really need to stick to this and try and make a difference.

Disappointed weigh-in

Well, I weighed in again this Friday, and I was disappointed to see I'd only lost another 1lb. I've still got 4 lbs to go in 7 days if I'm going to make my goal. I've had very suitable breakfasts and lunches, and I've now got into the habit of having a yoghurt and a banana whilst at work, and a piece of toast for breakfast. I'm really happy with that. I had healthy dinners too.

Tonight I cooked golden chicken with leeks and beans, which was very yummy, and about 600 calories for the portion. I got this from Jamies 15 minute meals, and the boyfriend loved it too so that's one to have again.

This morning I was up early, and I had a bad breakfast... fried egg and bacon sandwich (wholemeal bread at least!!) Then I was in the garden weeding in the morning, and made a chicken salad wrap for dinner, with a handful of crisps. Then I put together a wardrobe this afternoon. So I've certainly been fairly active today!! We are out tonight at a quiz but I'm not drinking, and it's a plougman's dinner, so I'm going to aim for the grapes and healthy stuff for as long as I can. The food goes pretty quickly there anyway so I can imagine I'll be left hungry, if anything. I'm not drinking either, so it's water all night for me.

Tomorrow it Mother's Day, so I'm cooking a big roast for dinner, but with lots of veg: broccoli, cauliflower, runner beans and leeks. That will fill the majority of my plate so I have little room for roast potatoes or meat!

4lbs to go... I don't think I'm going to make it by next Friday, but I will certainly try.

Day 82

Day 82, and I've lost a pound over the weekend. Seeing as I played netball on Friday, and then went for a 3 hour walk on Saturday, I am a little bit downhearted by this. I ate good breakfasts, salads for lunch, and small portions for dinner.

So now, I am 16 stone and 3 lbs. 5lbs to go until my 2nd stone is lost.

Today I had one slice of wholemeal toast with reduced fat peanut butter for breakfast, with a green tea. Then during the day, I had one Muller light yoghurt, and a no dressing green salad. I also had a cup of normal tea, with drop of skimmed milk. For dinner I had chicken stir fry, with lots of veg and glass noodles.

My body is telling me its hungry but its now 6.30pm so I'm going to ignore it. Instead, I'm going to have another cup of green tea. Also before I go to bed, I'm going to do my 7 minute workout.

Day 79...

Day 79, and I've maintained the same weight as I did on Monday. I was fairly good this week, healthy breakfasts and lunches, and small dinners on time, on some occasions. However, Tuesday night I got home at 11pm so I had doner meat and chips which made me feel pretty bad. So being the same weight, is ok with me. However, I've only got another 6lbs to go, which really isn't much. So next week, I'm going to go for it. Tonight I've promised we are having an Indian takeaway, but after that, I'm going to have a full solid 7 days of only salads, wholemeal bread, green tea, water, soups etc. My aim is to have lost my 2nd stone in the next 7-14 days.

Weigh in

Yesterday my aims weren't very successful unfortunately as I didn't have time for breakfast, and my banana was unripe! I drank lots of tea and water and on my way to lessons I grabbed a 'healthy' corn snack. When I got home at midday I had no time for lunch either, so when I got home at 6 I just had lasagne.

I weighed in this morning at 16 stone and 4lbs. That's another pound off. Today I've had breakfast, got a salad and banana packed, so I'm aiming for a good day!!

Late night sin!

Today I had a banana for breakfast, three green teas, one diet coke to drink all day. No water. Boo. For lunch I had a cheese pasty with a handful of crisps, coleslaw and potato salad. Not awful... Not great!! Dinner I had a very well portioned roast pork, suede, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, roast potatoes and gravy. Main issue was eating around 10pm! Hmmm not such a great day!!
Tomorrow I'm working 8-6. However my aim is for a slice of toast and green tea I the morning, banana and water on the road. Egg salad for lunch. Making a lasagne for dinner but try to portion control this! Let's see if I manage...

Much better!!

So this week, I was able to have salads, proper breakfasts and tea etc., and did really well. By the time of Friday, I had lost 4 lbs! So the weight gain from the weekend I can only assume was superficial.

Friday night I was cooking for all the family so I was drinking, and eating very late.

Be that as it may, I've had good things so far today, so not doing too badly. I have however, signed up to do race for Life in June. This is something I never really considered before, and thought it was just something I wouldn't manage or couldn't be. Bothered to do. However, I think it will keep me going and trying to rise to a challenge half way through the year.

Unexplained weight gain :(

Well, as you can see from my title, I am not happy!!

On the weekend, I ate... not overly healthy, but still, not warranting a weight gain! On Saturday I had my normal breakfast, a jacket potato with coleslaw for lunch, and then I was fairly active - visiting students to teach, shopping, moving furniture etc. I then had a late dinner of 2 slices of pizza and salad (no dressing). On Sunday, I had a fairly large breakfast, but that meant whilst everyone was in GBK at lunch, I only had a small portion of sweet potato fries and a milkshake. Then I had 2 chicken wraps with salad for dinner before 7pm. I also did a fair amount of walking through London and Hertford.

Now that I've written it down, I've realised that the milkshake would have probably done me quite a lot of harm. However, I measured yesterday and found that I had lost 2 inches around my waist (now 41 inches), 2 inches around my hips (now 50 inches), and an inch and a half around my thigh (29.5 inches). I was really pleased to see this.

However, when I weighed in this morning, I had put on 3lbs this weekend!!! That's loads, and I'm so disappointed about it. Looking back now, I can see some reasons why, but I'm still surprised.
So from today, I'm going to work at being very good this week. One slice of toast and green tea for breakfast, green tea throughout the day when I have time, a banana and an apple whilst in school today, and then to make sure my dinner tonight is very well portioned, and earlier than 6pm.

Getting a little better...

As I was ill this week, I didn't have much of the right food in the house. In fact one night, I didn't get home at all until 11pm.

However, I stuck to my normal day routine, and although my evenings were still a little pear shaped, I always ate earlier than 7pm, and it was ever so slightly healthier than recent time.
Today I weighed in and I am now at 16 stone and 6 lbs! Although it's a little slow for my liking, I lost another pound. That's two pounds a week, which is in fact an average weight loss for someone who is dieting.

Weekends are my downfall. However, I know that this weekend I can stick to my breakfast routine, and also make sure I have a banana for a snack. I also have salad stuff in the fridge for Saturday. Saturday night I'm seeing friends so I can't be sure what I'm eating but they are generally fairly healthy and well portioned meals when I see these girls so it should be ok. On Sunday I'm out with others and I have no idea of plans, so will just have to roll with it!

My aim is for next week, to cut down to smaller portions in the evening, even if it is not super healthy meals. I'm ok with that. I know I'm not on form with my diet at the moment but I am still on track, and I will get my mojo back when my house is a little more settled!!

Disappeared for a week...

Ok so I have been very bad about updating my blog, so I'm trying to sort myself out! Once you get into a bad habit it's really hard to get back out of it!

So you've missed all of days 52-60!

Here is a quick catch up...

We moved house. It was hectic. And tiring. And I was back at work at the same time. So the diet was not great!! My mornings were fine, I would drink green tea in the morning and one slice of toast with peanut butter on. Then I'd take a banana into work for break, and I had a very non-calorific salad for lunch. But then I would get home, do a whole load of stuff for the house etc., and eat about 10pm, and eat heavy foods. It did not go well. I weighed in on Friday morning, and I was.... drum roll... 16 stone 8lbs!! Yes I didn't lose weight... but I also didn't put on weight! And from the rubbish I had eaten, you would think I had put on at least 6lbs!!

So here I am on Day... 61!

Unfortunately, I'm ill. I have had a nasty cold for a few days. So even though I was going to try to be good all weekend, again, I was very bad. I weighed in this morning and I'm 16 stone 7lbs!! Clearly I have karma on my side at the moment, because it most definitely is not exercise or healthy eating!!

On a more rational note, it is probably due to the fact that my good morning/lunch habit are really paying off. I'm sure that if I ate properly in the evenings for a few days and drank a lot of water, I'd probably lose a few more pounds, as I'm pretty sure it's just the evening meals that are a problem now.

So I'm still at home, feeling ill at the moment. Hopefully in a few days, I'll be feeling better, less tired, and have more energy to be a little healthier and get back into it. In the meantime, I can celebrate my 1lb loss (with slight sarcasm in my voice).
